I’m not sure what to do. How do I get started?
To get an idea of how to start using the app, watch this introduction video.
I only see 3 prayer topics. Can I add my own?
Absolutely!
When you first open the app, you see the prayer reminder list which comes pre-populated with a few reminders to get you started.
The idea of this app is to create a personalized list of reminder prompts so feel free to delete these and add your own.
To add your own prompts, tap the ‘Plus’ button on the right side of the screen.
How can I change the order of the prayer prompts?
Click the Edit button from the main screen (top right).
In iOS, you’ll see a grab-bar appear on the right edge of each item. Just press the grab-bar of the item you want to move and drag it up or down in the list to the position you’d like to have it play back in. Tap ‘Done’ when you’ve finished reordering.
In Android phone, you’ll see up-arrows that allow you to move a given prayer prompt up one. Tap the edit button to stop re-order mode.
Can I mix in a worship song with my prayer prompts?
To add in a worship song or any other track from your music library, while adding a prompt…
In iOS, tap where it says ‘New Prompt’ and pick the option ‘Music’. You can pick any song that is part of your local Apple Music library.
In Android, tap where it says ‘audioPrompt’ and change it to ‘audioTrack’. You can pick any song downloaded to your phone.
Why can’t I see all of my music on my iPhone?
If a track is not local to the iPhone (i.e. it lives in the cloud or only exists on your phone as part of a streaming subscription), the track cannot be selected for Pray On The Go. If you purchase and download the track, it should become available for use in Pray On The Go.
Why can’t I see all of my music on my Android phone?
Presently there is no method of selecting songs purchased with Google Play for playback in a 3rd party app. For now, the only music you can select are the tracks downloaded to your phone from another source.
How can I create some variety in my prayer time?
We’re working on some ideas for creating more variety so that the order and list is not the same every day. Feel free to send us your suggestions.
In the meantime, if you have a long list, feel free to start each prayer session by clicking on a random item in your list instead of always starting at the top.
20 seconds is not long enough to pray about each item. Can this be changed?
You can change the amount of silent time between each prompt by tapping the hamburger menu in the upper left, tap Settings and then Voice Prompt Duration. You can set this to any number of seconds up to 300 (i.e. 5 minutes). The Voice Prompt Duration is the same for every prompt.
I don’t like the music that plays at the end of my prayer time. Can I change this?
You can change the interruption song used at the end of silent prayer time by tapping the hamburger menu in the upper left, tap Settings and then Interruption Song. Select any song from your local music library. Pray On The Go will automatically end the song you select after about 15 seconds in order to play your next prayer reminder.
